EU changes to Booking Site Widgets and Links

As you have been made aware, with the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, we have unfortunately been forced to disable our .eu domain name which hosts your online booking portal and provides access to the management app for team members. Therefore, customers in the UK and EU are required to update their online booking links and widget codes by 1st January 2021 to ensure no disruption to online bookings. Links to log into your admin will also change.

What is affected

Booking widgets integrated into your websites or posted booking site links will have changed to our .co.uk domain name from the .eu domain name. Until the 1st January 2021, .eu links will be redirected but thereafter will be removed. Please ensure you update your widgets/links (including the main booking site, individual published items and gift vouchers etc) before then. Log in links for team management have also now changed to https://login.resova.co.uk so please bookmark them for future use.

Updating your widgets and booking site links

Please ensure that you replace your widgets if you have:

  • resova.eu in the code
  • bookifyapp.co.uk in the code (this is an outdated code and should have been updated when Resova launched)
  • You have the Wordpress plugin installed (you only need to replace the Wordpress plugin again which is available in your account)
  • You update booking site links that end in resova.eu (they are currently forwarding to .co.uk but this will be disabled from the 1st January 2020)

There are a few ways to quickly update your widgets/site links:

  • See our collection of articles and select the option that applies to you to re-publish the widgets or update site links.
  • Simply locate the widget codes in your website and change the resova.eu extension to resova.co.uk. If you are using the old Bookify code, please make sure you change the codes to the new Resova ones.
  • Contact our support team and we will be more than happy to assist with this. Please ensure you provide the login link, username/email and passwords to websites so our team can access them.

What your new codes should look like

Below is an example of the main booking site widget that should be showing on your main book now page:

<div id="resova-wrapper"></div>
<script>(function(d, s, id) {
var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
js.src = "https://yourbookingsitesubdomain.resova.co.uk/widget";
fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'resova-pi'));
</script>

Please ensure you replace codes for all widgets including individually published items, gift vouchers and locations etc.

Changes to your Google Tag tracking

These updates will affect cross-domain tracking with Google Tag Manager. Please follow our guide here on how to quickly update your variables to ensure full tracking capabilities.

We apologise again for any inconvenience this may cause but unfortunately the changes are out of our hands. Our team will be readily available to help implement these changes for a smooth transition and ensure no disruption to your customers booking online or team members managing bookings etc.

If you have further questions regarding this, please feel free to contact our support team who will happily assist.
